I recently received this comment via email.
I still find the word “organic” to be an odd label because surely all tomatoes are organic? I’ve never seen an inorganic one, except those plastic ones that squirt cheap tomato sauce.
If they mean better grown, more tasty, no pesticides, hand massaged, whatever, then say that. Organic to me is a useless label that means nothing.
I couldn’t agree with David more.
Though, there is much to be said for colloquialisms and the cultures that use them. Surely such language is nothing but cultural metadata. One can infer a lot about people from the language they use, and they way in which they use it.
